Now that I’ve found my preferred method for effectively strengthening my core muscles, I’ve decided to tackle bringing power to my shoulder girdle so I can finally master the inversions that have evaded me for so long.
The video below is step 1 in my mission. I have what “looks like” a solid and aligned downward dog, yet I’ve had trouble finding true stability due to my (pretty extreme) hyper-mobility.
The exercise in this video looks deceptively simple but it’s an awesome way to see if you’re truly drawing your shoulders down your back and engaging your latissimus dorsi. I can do the “drop down” pretty easily, but getting back up is another story. I’m excited to see the impact this has!
